One of Europe’s most celebrated contemporary authors comes to Rizzoli Bookstore. Join award-winning Moldovan-Romanian writer Tatiana Țîbuleac and translator Monica Cure for a special conversation on June 4 celebrating the English-language publication of “The Summer My Mother Had Green Eyes”, one of the most acclaimed European novels of recent years. Already celebrated across Europe as one of the most distinctive literary voices of her generation, Țîbuleac has captivated readers in more than seventeen languages with her emotionally powerful and stylistically singular fiction. “The Summer My Mother Had Green Eyes”—a devastating and deeply lyrical novel about memory, grief, resentment, and reconciliation—has established her as one of the most compelling contemporary writers emerging from Eastern Europe today. Join us at Rizzoli Bookstore for an evening dedicated to this remarkable novel, featuring a conversation between Tatiana Țîbuleac and Monica Cure, moderated by Raluca Albu. Together, they will discuss the journey of bringing the novel into English, the challenges and rewards of literary translation, and the international resonance of one of the most celebrated works in contemporary European literature. The event is presented by RCI New York and Deep Vellum as part of Tatiana Țîbuleac’s North American tour, with the support of Rizzoli Bookstore. 📚 Books will be available for purchase and signing. PROGRAMDallas, The Wild Detectives – Tatiana Țîbuleac in conversation with Monica Cure, moderated by Will Evans, May 28, 7 PM / RSVPSan Francisco, Bay Area Book Festival – Tatiana Țîbuleac in conversation with Rita Bullwinkel, May 31, 1:30 PM / RSVPChicago, Madison Street Books – Tatiana Țîbuleac in conversation with Monica Cure, June 1, 7 PM / RSVP (more details soon)Washington D.C., Lost City Books – Tatiana Țîbuleac and Monica Cure in conversation with Ena Selimović, June 3, 7 PM / RSVPNew York, Rizzoli Bookstore – Tatiana Țîbuleac in conversation with Monica Cure, June 4, 7 PM / RSVP More details about Tatiana Țîbuleac`s American Tour and full schedule HERE.
