Secretarul de stat pentru relații interinstituționale, cooperare pentru dezvoltare și drepturile omului, Clara Volintiru, a efectuat o vizită în Republica Arabă Egipt, în contextul participării României ca țară Invitată de Onoare la cea de-a 57-a ediție a Târgului Internațional de Carte de la Cairo. Vizita a avut o componentă importantă de diplomație economică și promovare a cooperării bilaterale.
Secretarul de stat Clara Volintiru a fost însoțită la Cairo de o delegație formată din reprezentanți ai unor companii românești cu interese de dezvoltare pe piața egipteană. În cadrul întâlnirilor organizate pe 27 ianuarie de Ambasada României la Cairo, reprezentanții firmelor românești au explorat oportunități de investiții și parteneriate comerciale în Egipt. La întâlnire a participat și E.S. Olivia Toderean, ambasador al României în Republica Arabă Egipt.
- Context macroeconomic favorabil
Egiptul continuă să înregistreze un ritm solid de creștere economică, reflectând dinamismul său în regiunea MENA și poziția sa strategică ca hub regional între Europa, Orientul Mijlociu și Africa. Potrivit datelor recente, rata anuală de creștere a Produsului Intern Brut (PIB) al Egiptului a urcat la aproximativ 5,3% în 2025, peste media ultimilor ani și într-o traiectorie ascendentă pentru investitori internaționali.
Cu un PIB nominal de aproximativ 389 miliarde USD în 2024, Egiptul reprezintă o piață semnificativă și în expansiune, oferind un volum de consum intern de peste 110 milioane de persoane.
- Oportunități de conectivitate și comerț regional
Datorită poziției sale geografice excepționale, Egiptul servește ca un nod de conectivitate pentru lanțurile logistice între Europa, Orientul Mijlociu, MENA și Africa de Nord și Subsahariană. Coridorul Suez, infrastructura portuară și zonele economice speciale ale Canalului Suez oferă avantaje competitive pentru producție, distribuție și export.
Vizita delegației române la Orascom Industrial Parks din Ain Sokhna a pus în lumină aceste avantaje logistice și investiționale, prezentate de Mohamed Farouk, Senior Commercial Manager al parcului industrial. De asemenea, Tarek Hashem, director general pentru promovare externă al Zonei Economice a Canalului de Suez, a detaliat facilitățile și avantajele dedicate investitorilor străini și conectivitatea regională oferită de hub-urile industriale egiptene.
