About The Event

RCI’s Romanian-American Studio Theater proudly presents Lungs by Duncan Macmillan, an electrifying exploration of love, fear, and the weight of our choices in an uncertain world. Directed by up-and-coming Luana Seu, this intimate production invites you into the raw, fast-paced, and emotionally charged dialogue of a couple navigating the complexities of their future—personal and global. Starring Olivia Fairless and Austin Lightning Carrothers, Lungs delivers a deeply moving and thought-provoking theatrical performance that speaks directly to the anxieties and hopes of a generation. Lungs follows a couple as they grapple with the decision of whether to bring a child into a world facing environmental and societal collapse. Their conversations spiral through love, anxiety, and responsibility, reflecting the tension between personal desires and the harsh realities of the planet’s future. This witty and deeply emotional play forces us to confront our own choices and their impact on the world.
